Eating Out in Thornton
by Craven and Valley Life
For the size of Thornton village there is an amazing array of delicious places to eat and drink.
Starting at School Green, at the top of Chat Hill, why not visit the beautifully decorated Rocca Ristorante? Now in its third year, the Rocca is so popular for everyone from couples to large birthday parties. You need to book, especially for their Early Bird menu and their Wednesday evening offer of buy one – get one free on all pizza and pasta dishes.
Moving further up into the village you will find the Manzil Indian restaurant on Market Street; an amazing little restaurant offering delicious, freshly prepared dishes from their extensive menu. Fully licensed, the Manzil has a fantastic offer on Thursdays and Sundays of three courses for £7.95 per person! Again bookings are definitely advisable.
Back to Thornton Road and you will find Christophe’s Coffee House. Christophe, a genuine Frenchman, is an excellent chef. Everything is home-cooked from the gorgeous lemon drizzle cake to the sticky toffee cake, and the homemade burgers to beef bourginon. It is ALL delicious. Fully licensed, he is now open Friday evenings, from 5.30pm.
Moving up Thornton Road brings you to Jenny’s Tasty Baps. Jenny is open from 7.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 1pm on Saturdays. She serves hot and cold sandwiches, salads,
homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks.
Lastly go up to Hill Top Road, above the village, and find the award winning Ring O’ Bells, a traditional pub and restaurant which is open daily for lunches and evening meals. Now under new ownership, be sure to watch for any changes in the near future!
